Terms of Service.
Effective January 27, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Doing and any other software or services (“Services”) provided by Doing Systems, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), an Oregon limited liability company. By downloading, installing, or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Description of Services
Doing is a macOS application that provides voice-to-text transcription. The application supports multiple transcription providers:
- Local transcription (Parakeet) — runs entirely on your device with no network calls. Free to use.
- Cloud transcription (OpenAI Whisper, Google Gemini) — sends audio to third-party APIs for processing. Requires your own API keys and is subject to those providers’ terms and pricing.
License
Upon purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Doing on up to three (3) devices you own or control (e.g., desktop, laptop, and one backup device). You may not redistribute, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the software.
Payment and Pricing
Doing is a one-time purchase of $49 USD. Payment is processed by Paddle (paddle.com), our merchant of record, which handles all billing, sales tax, and VAT on our behalf. By purchasing, you also agree to Paddle’s Terms.
Cloud transcription costs (OpenAI, Google) are billed directly by those providers through your own API keys. We do not mark up or intermediate these charges.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day refund policy from the date of purchase. If you are not satisfied with Doing, contact us at privacy@doing.tools within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. After 14 days, purchases are non-refundable. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Third-Party Services
Doing integrates with third-party services that you may choose to use with your own API keys. These include:
- OpenAI — for cloud voice transcription (Whisper API) and LLM-powered Skills processing
- Google Gemini — for cloud voice transcription and LLM-powered Skills processing
When you configure and use these services through Doing, you are establishing a direct relationship with those providers using your own API keys and accounts. You are responsible for complying with each provider’s terms of service, acceptable use policies, and privacy policies. We encourage you to review:
Doing Systems, LLC is not a party to your agreement with these providers. We do not control how they process your data, and we are not liable for their actions, outages, or policy changes. Your use of third-party services through Doing is at your own risk.
Your Data
We believe your data is yours. Doing stores all transcripts, configuration, and API keys locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your audio recordings, transcriptions, or personal data on our servers.
When you choose to use cloud transcription or Skills processing (see Section 6), your audio or text is sent directly from your device to the third-party provider. This data does not pass through our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

- Share your license with others or circumvent licensing restrictions
